I am a product of the 80's, but there is no doubt I am a true 90's kid at heart. There is something special about the decade that spawned things like The Spice Girls and Troll Dolls. My very first memories of fashion are from the 90's when scrunchies, big socks, and colorful leggings were part of my everyday uniform. If you are like me and harken back to the days of Saved By The Bell then this throwback is for you.
Patches
Bucket Hats (and Sister Sister of course)
T-Shirt Clips
Fanny Packs
Mood Rings
Scrunchies
Starter Jackets (did you have a half zip or full zip?)
Skorts
Platform Shoes

When I was younger my mom used to tell me that "fashion always repeats itself." She swore her wardrobe consisted of peasant shirts, scarves tied around her head, bell bottoms, and leather jackets, but I never believed she could be so cool.
Now that I am older I find myself biting my tongue, and cursing the day I told her she was wrong. Trends come and go, but they always come again. Here are 5 fashion trends that have made a come back.
Overalls: This 90's trend is here to stay for at least another fall season. If you are new to the overall game we advise you to go with a leather pair for a chic and fresh look.
Culottes: Once known as the "skort", it is now back with a new identity. This time around it is a true trouser, and no longer a pant/skirt combo. We are all about this trend for the spring, and love them paired with wedges or flats.
Floppy Hats: We are all about this 1970's trend, and love that it is here to stay. Spring and summer will not be complete without one of these on your head or in your beach bag.
Bohemian Prints: Brands like Novella Royale, Blue Life, Tularosa, and Tigerlily are creating beautiful maxi dresses, skirts, and jump suits in fun and flirty bohemian prints. These prints hearken back to the 70's hippie chick, and are super cute for the spring.
Gingham: This 1950's fad is back again, and can be seen all over the Spring 2015 runway. We are really into this, and can't wait to get our hands on a skirt set in this pattern.
We decided to launch a new segment on our blog called "In With the Old" where we share tips and ideas on how to reuse and revamp old garbs. If your closet is overflowing with clothes, and you claim you have nothing to wear, then consider this segment your savior!
In this weeks edition of "In With the Old" we share a tip on how to take an old hat and make it new again. We are hat enthusiasts, obviously, and our collection grows by double digits every year. Our hats have stories to tell, and have been around the world with us therefore it is always so hard to part with any. Since we do not want to throw these hats away we came up with a way to make them unique and new again.
First we purchased a flower crown. Personally we are obsessed with Flower Gypsies crowns because they are handmade and come in beautiful colors, sizes, and prices range from $30-$45. We placed the flower crown around the base of the hat and tied it around tightly, and VOILA we had a totally new hat!
So if you have a stockpile of hats that are unworn and unloved, try this inexpensive tip to revive your collection.
